“A barony of ivy in the trees
Expanding out its empire by degrees
And all the branches burst to bloom
In the boom
Heaven sent this cardinal maroon
To decorate our living room”

—Decemberists “June Hymn”

So we’ve been teasing for a bit that our June shorts will have a theme & yesterday we teased some things that June is famous for. So it may not seem all that cohesive but the theme for June is, well, June. So our shorts will celebrate  June events great & small –  like Pride month & Bloomsday & Caribbean-American Heritage & my pal Shaggy’s birthday (what? everyone doesn’t celebrate that?)

We start with a salute to June being Black Music Month (now known as African-American but our selection is Irish so…). & a great historical animation of Phil Lynott*.  Please tune in next week for something special out of Hamilton, Ontario & for the remainder of the month & the future. We appreciate any feedback & all the retweets!!!

Enjoy your summers!!!

*viewers who were around on St. Patrick’s Day may spot that we showed the Phil Lynott short during our musical tweets that day but still really wanted to use it as an official.
